Question
Hello, I would love to start boxing but I have a few questions/concerns. What does one to to actually start boxing? Other than find a gym I don't know what else. Should I be in any certain condition? I workout regularly and I am not going to ever be a proffesional Boxer, but competitive fighting has always been a passion of mine. Also, if there a "too old"?

Answer
There are age restrictions in the Amateurs but mostly in most states it is over 30.  You always need to be in condition to fight and while you may not want to be a professional, you should train like one because getting in the ring on any level can be dangerous.  Go to a boxing gym in the area and talk with the trainer about helping you get started.  He will be able to analyze you and give you the right direction.

Thanks,

Joe
