Question
I am going to compete in the chicago golden gloves competition   as a novice. I will be fighting at 147 lbs.  I dont know what kind of gloves or headgear i need to have.  Do they need to have the USA boxing patch on them? At my weight, what size gloves and/or headgear do I need?  Do i need a body protector pad thing?  thanks!

Answer
You will wear 10 Oz. gloves that will be supplied at the tournament.  You will need a USA Boxing approved competition headgear or.  that you have to supply.  You'll also neede a groin protector.  body protectors are illegal,  I'm really surprised your coach doesn't know the answers to your questions.  I also hope that you are currently registered with USA Boxing so you can compete.
