Question
im 19 years old and love boxing with all my heart, and its not because im a fan. Its started out as away to release my anger but then i started getting really fast like, pacman fast. i got to the point where i would hit the bag non stop for 2 hrs straight every day. i never really get tired. i know hitting the bag is only a small part of boxing but i have more experience with fighting.ive been in many street fights, sparring in martial arts. i beleive i can become world champ one day. i need a serious coach. ive had some that just talked big saying i was going to be in tapout. that wasnt appreciated. its been my dream ever since i was little. i have the heart and will to accomplish my dreams but i cant find a way to get noticed. id join a gym but im absolutely broke. i need this so bad its ridiculous. cant sleep another minute.

Answer
Hi Ben,  I suggest you go to usaboxing.org and click on members. You will need to contact the local boxing committee and find out where the closest gym is. Keep in mind that as a new fighter the most important thing is to get on a team. As an amateur you are best suited to get on a golden glove team if possible. You may not be able to do that if you do not love near a gym. Otherwise you will have to do the best you can with what you have in your location. Boxing is not a mainstream sport so there are not a lot of choices. Just get started with somebody and on down the road if your not happy you can always change coaches.

Godd Luck,

Jackson
