Question
I was curious what you personally like to observe at an amateur boxing match, what excites you, what makes you happy you came out to watch the competition.

And also, what is your favorite element that you believe most fighters lack, or could possibly improve on? Head-movement, foot-work, speed, strength, a defining element that draws your attention to him or her?

Answer
I like to see good technique, crisp punches and boxers moving in the middle of the ring - not hanging on the ropes or in the corners.  Since I am a judge, I am looking for legal effective punches that connect with the white knuckle surface of the glove in the scoring area.  I don't like to see holding, low head or slapping - all of which are fouls.
