Question
I have been boxing for over a year amateur. I am 28 yrs old and getting back into the sport after almost 10 yrs. I have decent punching power and throw good combinations, but my balance and movement is all off at times and I even notice the off balance movements at times. Is there a drill I can use to keep my balance and foot movement crisp?

Answer
Hi Devon,   Remember to never cross your feet, stay off your heels and never bring your feet together. Your feet should never be closer than shoulder width. When you move to the side, take small stutter steps. Work on moving from side to side without bringing your feet together or crossing them. Don't try to be fast with your feet, just try to be smooth. Work from corner to corner in the ring and when you get to a white corner stop and throw a combination, then move again. Be sure you get your feet set up first before you throw, don't rush it, you can add speed later.

Good Luck,

jackson
