Question
My friend is interested in participating in the ringside tournament in Kansas City this August.  What are the requirements.  Does he have to have a passbook which I have read a bit about or can he just box as an amateur.

Answer
In order to compete as an amateur, he will need to register with USA Boxing and get a passbook.  If he is over 35 years old, he will also need to have an extensive physical before he registers.  Please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com.  Let me know the city and state he lives in and I'll also send you the Masters Division rules.
