Question
What is the best way to go into Nationals knowing that you fight everyday? Meaning, how should I fight? Should I try and do just enough to win or go all out? I feel like I am in great shape.

Answer
Hi Louis,

Don't ever try to save yourself for the next fight because you could mess around and lose the fight your in. You can't predict fouls, early stoppages or anything else that might count off points against you. So always go into each fight with the intentions of your best performance. Since this is the nationals you do not want to mess around. You are in great shape so there is no reason hold back or save yourself. At the national level an amateur fight doesn't take much out of you, not even fighting every day. Keep in mind that every fight will be watched by some imprtant people that could impact your career if you have aspirations of turning pro. So each performance is important. Even if your fighting a guy you've fought in the past and beat him easy, don't let up, your ability to dominate lesser skilled opponents is just as important as barely squeaking out a victory over a top notch boxer.

Drink plenty of water before and after the fight. That will be the number one factor in your energy levels. In addition are good solid meals the night before the fights.

Good luck in Grand Rapids. Say hello to Ace Miller for me, the head coach and director of the southern team.
