Question
I have a friend who is a Japanese citizen. He is 36 years old and wants to know if he can be licensed here in the United States as a professional boxer. (If yes, which states?

Answer
Hi Errol,
Thanks for the question.

Licensing for professional boxers is regulated at the state level, so you'd have to check with the athletic / boxing commission of the individual state in which your friend is seeking a license.
Boxers from all over the world obtain licenses in virtually every state that has a boxing commission, so that would not be a barrier.

I hope this helps, Errol.
Thanks again for writing!

Regards,
Lian
