Question
I have made it to National Gloden Gloves. I want to try and conserve enough energy for the finals, but make sure that i put in enough work to get there. What are the things that the judges look for as far as the scroing system?

Answer
Hi Louis,
Thanks for the question.
If you've already made it to the National Golden Gloves, you've been doing something right!

At any rate, boxers earn points for clean, effective punches landed in the legal scoring area...the boxers who the judges agree lands more of such punches would win the bout.

Therefore, the judges will be looking for effective blows, with the weight of the shoulder behind them, landing cleanly.
It's pretty much that simple, at least according to the rules ;)

I hope this helps, Louis. Thanks again for writing.

Best wishes!

Lian
