Question
well i am ready to apply for my u.s.a book and thinking of my nervous habits, even before i spar im a nervous wreck, i hate that felling cause when the bell rings it's gone. i always think of the worst case that can happen to me
do you ahve any techniques to stop being nervous my heart always pounds

Answer
Charles,

This is normal so don't feel like your the only one. The other guys will be just as nervous it's just that you don't think about it that way. You know if you just stood in the middle of the ring for 3 rounds with your gloves up and elbows tucked in, he could swing all night and never hurt you. So after you punch just keep your hands up. This helps eliminate that fear of getting knocked down. Also, throw first. If you put him on defense first every exchange, you will control most of the action and cut way back on getting punched at. You can't do anymore than your very best so just remember that you can take your training out there and do exactly what your suppose to do....and that's ALL you can do, no more. So if you follow instructions for the fight, you can't be disappointed in yourself no matter the outcome.

best of luck,

Jackson
