Question
QUESTION: Hi Melanie,
I coach in San Antonio Tx, I have a boy who is 16 and about to turn 17 on July 17th as a matter of fact. He wants to fight in Texas Games, which is on July 24th, will he have to fight for 17 yr olds or will he box for 16, I know theres a Aug 1st date for eligiblity, could you help me.
         Thanks James

ANSWER: Hi James - Once he turns 17, he'll box in the senior division - he will no longer be eligible for the JOs.  The August 1st date is strictly for the National JOs.

QUESTION: HI Melanie, you did so well I have one more for now. I have a master fighter looking for fights. I know texas games says they have them but they don't. I also know Ringside has them but what others, I'm stuck.
         Thanks James

Answer
Hmmm - am I getting gold stars, too?  LOL!  There isn't much, if any, depth in the Masters Division.  It's nice to know the Texas Games will include them - IF they can match them up via the Masters rules.  As far as I know, Ringside is the only event that consistently has Masters competition.
