Boxing/Hand Wraps

Question
I just bought a set of new hand wraps today and they're much shorter than the ones I've been using in the past. I was using a set of Title ones and picked up an Everlast set today. Just because it's Everlast I'm assuming they're good - but I'm surprised by how short they are.

What exactly does the wrap need to accomplish? If I'm using gloves, is it adequate to simply support the wrist or does it need to be long enough to completely pad my entire hand?

Answer
Hi Dave,

You may have gotten the juniors by mistake. They make two sizes, adults and juniors. You need the long set for sure.
The purpose of the hand wrap is 3 things: protect your knuckles, secure your wrist and secure your thumb.
If you can return those and grab the long set or you can buy them from ringside.com which is where most boxers buy all their equipment. The price is right and it's good stuff.

good luck,

Jackson
