Question Hi Joe, I was wondering when are weigh ins before professional fight? And when you weigh in do you have to be exactly on weight or is there some give a few? What else do you need besides license and how do you stop a major nose bleed, I know adrenaline but or there other pointers? How long would you request a fighter to warmup before his fight. What is a good average a fighter could make on pro debut. I have a guy who is looking to make pro debut and I've worked many amateur but not pro could you help me? Are there any paticulars with hand wrapping?
Thanks Jim
Answer Well in answer to your first question. Do not blow your nose. Pinch the nostrils together fairly firm. The weigh in is usually 24 hours prior to the bout, and depending on if it is a title fight and depending on what is the agreement set forth in the fight contract will determine the weight limitations. Title Bouts you must make the weight class. The pay for a fighter if not a TV Bout would be about $100 per scheduled round so a 4 rounder would be 400 to 600 dollars. Handwrapping I could never explain in writing. I would suggest getting a video on handwrapping from Ringside. A warmup should be about 6 minutes total with some stretching and punch mitts.
