Question
hi joe,
im 19 and wanted to get into boxing as i think its a great way to stay in shape at the moment i dont do any boxing activities as i have just tried to increase my strenght over the year and think im at my peak of strenght however im still not fit enuff as i have alot of fat on my body i know cardio is the key but can you tell me how to start off and what should i do and how many times a week

Answer
To answer you correctly you first need a trainer, but in general fighters will train usually 6 times per week doing something.  Jogging is excellent along with heavybag work, definitely incorporate some calestetics such as pushups, situps, dips, etc.  You should weight train somewhat but not too heavy and try to do some form of weight training 3 days per week.  The key to raw muscle is diet and you need a high protein diet plan.  Anyway you do need a trainer and you can also get boing workout books from Ringside.

Thanks,

Joe
