Question
Hey Melanie lye, i have a question concerning first fights for armature boxers. I will have my first fight on the 19th of this month and was wondering what to expect from the opponent... some people say that armatures usually come out swinging like crazy just to land a shot and i am a bit worried that all my hard work and dedication will be submitted to a slug fest with a crazy boxer haha, just wanted to know what you have seen out there. thanks, -daniel

Answer
I have seen everything from a good boxing match to a sloppy wrestling match to a slugging match.  Just remember to throw straight punches, don't hold, or duck your head, or slap, and stay off the ropes and out of the corners.  Keep to your own game plan and don't get sucked into what your opponent is doing. Good luck!
