Question
I was wondering what size gloves they use in Chicago Golden Gloves.  I'm 140 pounds and bought some 10 oz. gloves, but some people I talked to said they use 12 oz. gloves so now I'm confused.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Joe,

Thanks for the question.
Per USA Boxing rules, 10 oz. gloves are used in all amateur bouts involving boxers weighing up to 152 pounds. For all bouts in weight divisions above 152, 12 oz. gloves are used.

A local boxing committee can allow all participants to use 12 oz. gloves in non-tournament competition if all parties agree.

I hope this helps!

Thanks again for writing.

Regards,
Lian
