helo im keen to start amature boxing as i know i have wat it takes to be good enough.but im worried about wat testing they do eg. medical tests.im scared of getting results bk that i have somthing like hiv hepititus or some other dedly disease. it is a fear of mine so i dont like to confront it or have anything to do with needles.u may think i take drugs and am scared of being tested but tht isnt the case im just scared of somthing i dont want to find out!do they test u for this if u are an amature boxer at any time ? please write bk !

Answer
There is no medical testing involved in amateur boxing, other than pre-and post-competition checks by the ringside doctor.

However, if you feel you might have some kind of transmittable disease, I would definitly have yourself checked prior to training and competing.  It isn't fair to anyone you would spar with or compete against to do so if you think you might have HIV, Hepatitis or any other problem.
