Question
Hi, I haven't really started training on the speedbag yet, but I was wondering what I can do to continuously hit the bag? I tried it using a friend's bag, but I would only be able to keep rhythm for a little bit and the bag goes everywhere!

Answer
Hi Daniel.

You bring up an important point. To continuously hit the bag, you must CONTROL it, and you do that by controlling your movement speed and power.

Rather than try to hit it continuously right away, try the beginner tips describe here on speedbagcentral.com, particularly the "four step progression"
http://www.speedbagcentral.com/ssp/skill_levels#B

I also suggest you scan all over speedbagcentral.com and read all the equipment, punching and training tips. It will explain for you HOW the bag works and how to use it.

the secret to keeping it from "going everywhere" is being able to hit the correct place on the bag, with the correct angle and force, repetitively, time after time.  That will take some practice but in a few days using the four step progression it should become easier and easier until you can consistently hit it from the front with three rebounds inbetween.

Good luck with it and train safely!

sincerely
