Boxing/Heavy bag height

I wanted to know what height to hang a heavy bag.My basement height maybe a little low will it work with a
ceiling height of 6ft 8 inch. Thank you Kevin

the bag needs to hang so that when you punch straight out from your shoulders you are hitting the bag between the middle and the top. 6'8 is going to be a little low because the chain itself needs to hang at least 8 inches and that would put the top of the bag at 6 feet. Unless you are quite a bit under 6'0 yourself it would be too low.

In the mid 90's I became a trainer for Golden Gloves. I train amateur and pro fighters. I have worked in many corners at USA and Golden Glove tournaments. I have worked corners in pro bouts on HBO and ESPN cards. My friend, boss and coach is the former President of Golden Gloves and I trained under his tutelage.
