Question
Hi, I currently am training at La Boxing, I am 17, and been training for about a year now.  I want to know if there are any local boxing tournaments i can compete or partake in.  I live in southern CA, Mission Viejo. If you can give me any info that i may need I would greatly appreciate it.

Answer
Hi Chris,
In order to compete, you'll need to register with your USA Boxing Local Boxing Committee (LBC).
To do this, go to www.usaboxing.org, and click on "Membership Services." You can follow the directions there to find a registration form, and contact information for your LBC, which is the Southern California Association.
Your coach will need to be registered and certified as well in order to work your corner.
Once you're registered, you'll have access to listings of all upcoming sanctioned amateur boxing events in your area.

I hope this helps, Chris.
Thanks for writing!
Regards,
Lian

I can answer questions regarding rules for both pro and amateur boxing; upcoming bouts; fight analysis/predictions; various other questions. I am an experienced amateur boxing official with USA Boxing (14 years) and I have completed a yearlong professional officials` clinic with the California State Athletic Commission.
