Question
i wonder about title belts, if a boxer holds one or more title belts, does are there any types of fees that boxer need to pay for holding those belts and when moves up or down on the weight class. what happens to those title belts that boxer holds? also what happens when that boxer retire?, does he or she keep those belts or surrender them?

Answer

Absolute Boxing and MM
Elcid, good question ! Usually, there is a sanctioning fee that is paid by the promoter to have a title fight. As long as the fighter can defend his belts at the specified weights, he can keep them. Most title belts come with a contract that requires you to defend that title every so often, if you do not defend your title in the required time, you can lose your title, which then the promoters can have an elimination tournament. If you retire and hole the title, you keep it. Keep punching, Tony Spain 941.302.4181 www.tonyspain.com
