Question
Hi, I have recently started boxing aged 25, do you think i have any chance of getting to a high competitve level like the Olympics as an amateur, and then any title fights as a pro? I have ten years of Taekwondo behind me so i am quite fit and used to fighting in the ring! Also, please tell me if you know, what are the pro/amateur age limits are for female boxers? Thanks alot! Lucy.

Answer
At present, women's boxing has not been included in the Olympics - that will be discussed this year, or next.  You aren't too old at 25 (oldest you can box til is 34) but I would definitely get started in gaining experience at the local and national levels.  If you are not already registered with USA Boxing and training in an amateur gym, please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com, tell me the city and state you live in, and I'll send you a contact.
