Boxing/championship belt

Question
I thought I'd ask a question on line just for fun although I'm serious. I'm 40 years old and I want a championship belt of any kind so that I could show it off and to feel proud every time I look at it. I have a personal reason which I would love to explain if I had a chance. I have been training for about four months now and I feel pretty good about stepping in to the ring. My question is if I am 40 years old where can I compete in the Los Angeles area. I understand that you have to have a doctors note or something like this. I need to fight soon so that I can find out how good or bad I am. There is a Master's tournament in Missouri but I think it's too far. I'm new. I am not working with a trainer so I don't have any information. I go to the Wild Card Boxing Club. Thanks.

Answer
There is no competition in the Los Angeles area for registered boxers 35 and over.  Your best bet would be to compete in the annual Ringside Tournament, held in August.  If you are interested in reading the Masters Division rules, please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com and I'll send you a copy.  You will need to register with USA Boxing upon completion of an extensive physical.  You will also need a registered and certified coach to work your corner.
