Question
hi, im currently trying to get into managing fighters because ive always loved boxing and im not sure if compeition is for me but i KNOW managing would be what i wanted to do ...but i have also thought of promoting...but im not sure that i know the difference between manager-promoter-matchmaker..listening to others it seems like they are all the same thing so was wondering if u could break it down for me ...also what would be your advice for someone trying to find people to manage and promote?

Answer
Well promoting is actually putting on the shows itself and reaping the profits are eating the losses of each event.  The matchmaker is one who finds fighters to fight on shows for the promoters, and managers handle the fighters assigning trainers developing contracts and whatnot.  The most important thing in all of these is to have contacts so it would be a good idea to go to some shows and meet some people because without contacts it will be hard to manage or matchmake.  Promoting is a larger risk.
