Question
Im intrested in boxing,I have been in a local boxing gym but have not been lately because of my job schedule, but my question is i don't have very long arms im only 5"8 i also don't think my wingspan is that long wat are my odds in becoming a professional boxer, will that effect me in the long run against fighters with a longer wingspan?

Answer
Cornell,

The beauty of boxing is that disadvantages such as reach or height can be overcome with proper training. I would even hesitate to us the word "disadvantage" because it can be an asset once you master the correct fighting style. There is a different strategy for each boxer depending on their strengths, weaknesses and natural attributes.

Think of it like this, Mohamed Ali had reach, speed and better footwork than Joe Frazier but still lost because Frazier executed the perfect strategy.

good luck
