Question
Hello I am a 27 yr.old female wanting to start a career in judging pro fights. I know you have to start judging amateur fights first but for how long before you can switch to the pros. And would you know how you get on a card as a judge. Do you have to constantly call around or does the commission just assign judges to fights?

Answer
You need to check with the pro boxing commission in your state and find out their requirements and procedures for becoming a judge.  I have no idea what each state requires in the amount of time, if any, spent in amateur boxing (each commission is different).  If you need information on amateur boxing officiating, you can email me at mel@amateurboxing.com and tell me the city and state you live in.
