Question
Hey, My name is Jordan I box in 150 weight I've had two fights and won both of them by the tip of my glove. I was so tried and I ran and ran for weeks what could I do to get where I need to be where I don't run out of air in the clutch moment of the fight I'm coming up for golden gloves in August and if I can win my trainer said he would start me in some pro fights but I really don't want to blow my chance at golden gloves because my lungs wouldn't holding the air I need. Thanks for any help you may give me I fight in a some town of Whiteville NC and really ain't never been much of nothing in any other sport so I really want to show my family and friends and lil girl what I can do other than get in trouble thanks.

Answer
Jordan,

It is important that you mix in some sprints with your running. 50 yard sprints. You should do about 10 at the end of your run. Also, when you do your bag work, you should pace yourself like a real round by pacing yourself. You must learn how to get the most out of a round without using yourself up. Many boxers waste a lot of energy during a round by moving too much or punching when there is no chance of scoring.
Get on the bag and work on pacing yourself, you should be breathing medium but not heavy.
Once you get in better shape and pace yourself you will feel much better between rounds.

good luck
