Question
Hello Lian,

I first want to thank you for your time. My name is Neil Picart and i plan on becoming a certified Coach/Trainer for amateur youth fighters. I have already attempted to contact my LBC and I am in the process of setting up my clinic. I was wondering if i am allowed to enter my fighter(s) in sanctioned bouts without being a part of a certified club. I would prefer to enter on my own and be the only one training my fighters. I already have all the necessary tools and equipment needed, I have no reason to have my fighters join a a local club (unless i have to), especially if i plan on beating all of there fighters...*wink*

Please Help...

Answer
Hi Neil,
Thanks for the question.
Your registered boxers can compete as "unattached" if your gym is not registered. You would still be required to be registered and certified by your LBC as a coach in order to work in the corner, however.
There is a significant advantage to having your boxers train at a USA Boxing certified club: insurance. You might want to chat with your local LBC officers, or visit www.usaboxing.org and peruse the rulebook to learn the scope and benefit of having your boxers covered by USA Boxing's insurance.

I hope this helps, Neil.
Thanks again for writing.
Regards,
Lian
