Question
Hello I have spoken to you by email. And thank you for your help. But as
I'm doing further reading and looking more into behind the actual boxing
fights. My real interest in boxing is becoming a trainer. My bestfriend who
happens to be a girl is interested in becoming a potential fighter. And I
want to take her to the top since we both love the sport dearly. My
question is: being an amateur judge, how long would I have to wait in
order to judge in the pro level??? Because I understand that amateur
judging don't see any money till they move up. Thank you!

Answer
How long it takes before you become a pro judge is up to your state's boxing commission.  You will need to find out how many years of amateur officiating they require (most want two to five) and then find out how to go about getting licensed for the pros.  There is no "moving up" per se.  And you are correct - amateur officials do not get paid.
