Boxing/Am I Too Old to Start a Boxing Career?

Question
Dear Melanie,

I am 26 years old and I've always had an interest in boxing.  But I'm
wondering, am I too old to start a boxing career?

Sincerely,

Durante Bivings

Answer
You're a bit on the old side if you want to become an elite amateur boxer.  However, nothing is impossible.  If your goal is to eventually turn pro, I would definitely suggest at least two or three years amateur experience - hopefully with some at the national level.
