Question
Hi Melanie --

I'm helping to train an amateur named Gabriel Robledo out of Wilmington and we've been approached by a would-be sponsor. Where do we find the rules on this? We want to make sure we do everything within those rules.

Best,

Answer
What does the sponsor want to do?  Sponsor's name on boxing attire is okay. The actual rule is as follows:

(3) A boxer must not:
b. Have allowed own person, name, picture or sports performance to be used for advertising, except when AIBA, the U.S. Olympic Committee or USA Boxing enters into a contract for sponsorship or equipment. All payment must be made to AIBA, the U.S. Olympic Committee or USA Boxing and not to the boxer.
