Boxing - amature boxing license

Expert: Melanie Ley - 5/16/2009

Question
Hello, my name is jason and i have been trying to find out how to get my armature boxing license. I was hoping to fight this month if possible. I was hoping i could meet with the right people and fill out the forms in person, instead of thease online applications. Thats because I'm not sure how to fill out the application exactly and i don't have a coach right now to ask about so im trying to do this all by myself. So if you could give me some guidance it would be vary appreciated.

Answer
You have to register as an athlete in person the first time.  Please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com, tell me your city and state, and I'll send you a contact.  You'll need a copy of your birth certificate, two passport-type pictures, and the amount of a yearly fee.  If you are under 18, one of your parents will have to sign the membership waiver.
