Question Dear Ms. Ley,
I'm trying to convince my parents to let me do boxing, but my mom doesn't want me to do a combat sport, mostly because she doesn't want me to end up in the hospital. (she does let me play football, so I can probably negate that argument) She also doesn't want me to have to go X amount of miles to get to the gym. Also, I'm 14.
Thanks,
Ross
Answer Hi Ross - Amateur boxing is one of the safest sports - football has more injuries/fatalities. Please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com, give me your address, and I will mail you information you can show your parents. I will also give you a contact who can answer any questions they might have.
