Answer
Eddie,

Most guys who take the clinic have already been training boxers. The reason they take the test is so they can work corners. You cannot work corners unless your certified. The form was asking if you are getting paid now or are you a volunteer.
I'm not sure why they ask that because it has no bearing on you getting an ID. They are likely just doing a survey for their records.

If you are not connected to a gym already then you can try to find a gym and ask if you can get on board. Boxing gyms are always poor. They are either non profit and make it on fundraisers or they charge a monthly fee for profit.
I'm not sure what you meant by "metro". But if you can get in at one of the gyms that charge a monthly fee then you might be paid for your services. Although it will never pay the bills, just think of it as a supplement to your income.

good luck
