Question
hi Jackson,
I have a discussion with my friend;
in a running race in distance like 3km, for you is advantage Mike Tyson (In his best times) or Usain Bolt.
I'm inclined to Tyson: I'm a runner and i have see tyson run in video; he was smart and ungainly, but he have a good resistance,
my friend is inclined to bolt because is a champion and have a very beautiful style of run, but in my opinion ii is a sprinter and he haven't a resistance necessary in competition upper 2km...
for example: I'm a middle distance runner and in a race of 3km my time is 9'50"/10', but rarely a sprinter specialized in 100m can run this race under the 12"
so, you know the boxing world, and you tell me what is a real capacity of the heavy weight boxer
thanks

Answer
Federico,

Heavyweights are notoriously bad at distance. They usually hate running. Although Tyson was better than most because he didn't carry much fat and he was very determined.

The distance would matter greatly in the race. Even though Bolt doesn't run much distance, his VO2 max would still be world class even at 3K. He would probably fade at the end but he would have such a huge lead the boxer would not catch up before the finish line.

Boxers typically run 5k to 10k.

The longer the distance the better the boxer would do.
