Question
I was wondering what I could do to practice and get better with rhythm. I am very bad with rhythm. I play instruments, but I suck at keeping beat and rhythm, so I was wondering how I could improve this for boxing. I am not good with the speedbag, nor am I good with the double-ended bag. I think that may be because of my problem with getting into rhythm. So I need something to help me improve my rhythm, which in turn will help me with speedbag and double-end bag. Thank you.

Answer
Daniel,

Well, you have it a little bit backwards. One of the purposes of the speedbag and doubl-end bag is to develop rhythm. Once you develop strong rhythm, you hit those bags less and less. So you don't develop rhythm so you can go and hit the bags, you hit the bags so you can develop rhythm.

Rhythm is very difficult to just tell you what to do in a message. It requires a lot of demonstration.

I would suggest throwing combinations on the bag. Record the sound it makes in your head, start with a 2 punch and work up to a 6 punch. Keep throwing them until distance between each sound is exactly the same. Don't think about the mechanics of the punch just focus on the sound.

good luck
