Question
I had a few questions regarding competing as an amateur. What brand of gloves are usually used at amateur competitions? Will I be allowed to use evergel handwraps instead of regular ones? If so, do you recommend using them? Also, am I allowed to use my own foul protector, or will I have to use one of USA boxing's at the event?

thanks for your time.

Answer
The host of any amateur event, local show or tournament, provides the gloves and they can be any glove that has been approved by USA Boxing.  Legal handwraps are tape a gause.  Evergel is not permitted.  The equipment you must have is:  protector, trunks and tank top, mouthpiece, shoes and competition headgear.
