Question
what muscles do you use when you throw i series of puches and how can i help to build muscle but also increse the speed of mu punches i was always i really fast boxer but when i started going to the gym and getting big i lost some speed if i go to the gym and work the bag evenly would that keep it maintained?

Answer
Killian,

You use every muscle when you throw a punch. So it is best to workout every muscle group.

Speed mostly about coordination. The more coordinated you are, the more you can control your motor functions, which translates to throwing technically sound punches in boxing.

You can amplify that speed by being stronger and leaner from lifting weights.

When you've been off a long time, the main reason you are not as fast as you used to be is because your timing is off. There is a rebound effect when you make contact with the bag that you have to time perfectly to be your fastest. This translates to the sparring and fighting. When your timing is off, it throws off the rhythem of your combinations which effects your speed and power. So if you maintain bag work, your timing should stay good.

good luck
