Question
If a 16 year old boxes in the Under-19 National Tournament can he then still box in the Jr Olympics?

Answer
The rule is as follows:  "Restriction. Junior Olympic boxers may not enter or compete in any
open class (age 17 and up) boxing tournament, championship or boxing contest, except as mentioned in 101.7(2)(a). If they do compete, the boxer is no longer eligible to compete as a Junior Olympic boxer."  101.7(2)(a):  "Under no circumstances will a 16-year-old boxer compete in the Junior Olympic Tournament process once the athlete has competed in an open class qualifying event."  Since the Under-19 was a qualifying event for an international championship, any 16 year old would not be eligible to compete in the JO National Championships or qualifying tournaments leading to.
