Question
According to amateur and professional boxing rules and regulations, can amateur/professional wear prescription contacts during a fight? If not, can a fighter receive LASIK treatment or any other vision enhancing treatment and still be allowed to fight after the recovery period has been passed?

Yes to all. Although you have to wear 'soft' contacts. The fight will not be stopped if your contacts come out during the action (which happens often). But, if you indicate that you cannot see or see well enough to fight and protect yourself, the doctor will indicate to the referee to stop the fight.

In the mid 90's I became a trainer for Golden Gloves. I train amateur and pro fighters. I have worked in many corners at USA and Golden Glove tournaments. I have worked corners in pro bouts on HBO and ESPN cards. My friend, boss and coach is the former President of Golden Gloves and I trained under his tutelage.
