Question
Is there a universal numbering system for boxing punches, that are used by professional boxing coaches to call out punches to boxers in training. Example,123 jab cross hook, what would be next? are they numbered after 3 ?
thanks in advance
Mike

Answer
Mike,

Yes, it goes like this:
assuming the boxer is righthanded

1 left jab
2 right cross
3 left jab
4 right uppercut
5 left uppercut
6 right hook

Keep in mind there is no "rule" on these numbers. Trainers may make up their own system. I like the numbers to be in the order that is easiest to remember for the boxer. With this system, you are just rolling from one side to the other with each punch which is a natural flow of punching.

good luck
