Question
my question is i am 24 y/o male coming out of the marines with a full passion to continue my life and pursue my dream of boxing. Do i have the chance to make a career of this? i have a lot of heart and determination to take care of my family and this is all i know.

Answer
Hi Josh - it is very hard to make a career and living out of professional boxing unless you are a heavyweight and/or are in the top 1% of the really good boxers.  Did you box while you were in the Marine Corps?  Have you had any experience at all?  My suggestion to you is to register as an amateur boxer and get a couple of years experience before you think about turning pro.  If you are interested in registering with USA Boxing, please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com and tell me the city and state you live in and I'll send you a contact in your area.
