Boxing/body blows

Question
I know that using your feet and lowering an arm are ways to avoid some punches to the body, but are there other ways to avoid body blows...especially if one was wide shouldered and short armed and decided to use the peek-a-boo style with their hands up all the time?
Trying to think of methods that don't involve lowering arms, backing up or clinching.

Thanks.

Answer
Caleb,

You should never have to lower your arms to block a body shot. You can bock from your starting position especially the style your fighting because both arms should be tucked in tight to your ribs. There will be a hole in the middle. There has to be a hole somewhere and you want it to be where your abs are.
You turn body into the punch and block with your arms without moving your arms. You always want to simplify your fighting style. The less your moving your arms around the more effective you will be from both a defensive and offensive position.

good luck
