Question
I'm from southern california, 22 years old. besides the registration fee, is there any other requirement i have to fulfill before being able to compete as an amateur? passing a physical, etc.  Thank you.

Answer
No, you just need to register ($50 per calendar year, January to December; you'll also need a copy of your birthcertificate) and you must have a registered and certified coach work your corner when you compete.  You will need to have a groin protector, soft-soled shoes, trunks and a singlet (trunks need to have a contrasting waistband) and a mouthpiece.
