Question
I see there are 8 boxers in each weight class for the trials in Mobile, AL starting at the end of this month.  Is this a double elimination tournament (winner/loser bracket)?  I also saw that one of the winners of the last chance qualifier won a weight class that he didn't fight all the rest of the tournaments at. Amir Imam from Albany, NY won the 152lb class when he fought all his other tournaments at 141.  This is allowed, to switch weight classes for each individual tournament in an attempt to qualify for the trials?

Answer
Yes, the Olympic Trials is a double elimination tournament.  The winner of the Champions bracket will box the winner of the Challenger's bracket to determine who is on the U.S. Olympic team.  Yes, you can switch weight classes for individual tournaments.
