Question
My son would like for me to coach and enter him into some boxing tournaments. I understand that I need a coaching license. If so how do retain one. I myself have been involved in Golden Gloves and USA/ABF tournaments many years ago.

Answer
Both you and your son will need to have membership in USAB boxing.  In order to register your son, you will need to have a copy of his birth certificate and two passport-type pictures.  You will also need to take part in a 6-8 hour certification clinic before you can work a corner.  There are yearly (January through December) membership fees for both of you.  Please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com and I'll send you a contact in your area.
