Boxing/Ages allowed in the Training Gyn

Question
Can youths be trained alongside adults or must they be separated according to age groups.  Also, I have a friend that wants to open a boxing gym, he says that a 16 year old can have
a professional fight with an adult over the age of 21.  I cannot believe this because a youth cannot enter into a contractual agreement.  Please respond

Answer
Yes, young people can train at the same time as adults.  Most laws in the U.S. state that a boxer can't be a pro until he or she is 18 - there might be a few states that will register at 17; in sanctioned amateur boxing, a 16 year old can box a 17 year old only at a local show (and can never box anyone over 17).  Your friend needs to find out all the pertinent rules, and abide by them, before he opens a gym.
