Question
I live in Kent, WA and I am 18 I weigh about 200 pounds, but I'm in athletic shape. I was wondering when and where any amateur boxing competitions around here. I would appreciate any info you have.
Thank you.

Answer
In order to compete in amateur boxing, you will need to get registered with USA Boxing in your area.  You will also need a registered and certified coach to work your corner.  The best thing you can do is find a gym and train for around 8 months before you have your first bout.  If you are interested in finding a gym and trainer, please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com and I will send you a contact in your area.  Please remember to tell me the city and state you live in.
