Question
I am 20 years old and I wanted to know a few things. First, How do I register as an amatuer fighter and what do I need to have done? Second, I wanted to compete in the National Championships in Colorado in 2007, do I need to have a certain amount of fights to compete there? I have been training for a year and a half but I haven't had a fight.

Answer
Hi Pedro - In order to tell you where to register, I need to know what city and state you live in.  May I also ask where you've been training and still haven't had a bout?

In order to compete in the 2007 National Championships (possibly rescheduled to June), you will need to be between the ages of 17 and 34, a U.S. citizen and have at least 5 recorded bouts in your passbook.  However, in order to get to the National Championships, you must have also won your district/state and regional competitions.  You must have the 5 bouts BEFORE you enter the District/State tournament.
