Question
Hey I just started getting into boxing this year, I'm 18 and am becoming insanely fast at the speed bag, and am only getting faster(I'm practicing 1 bounce right now and keep getting better,I mastered the 3 bounce). I am 5'7 125. I have a thin frame, but I'm in great shape and started working in a small boxing club and feel amazing. I'm really driven as well, do you think my body type is good for boxing and would most boxers I face be taller or shorter than me? Is it possible to make large salaries if you start at this age? I mean do you have to be boxing all your life to become a great?

Answer
Hi Rohin,  You do not have to start boxing early in order to become an accomplished pro. It sounds like you are learning quick so as long as you keep putting out the effort you will get the same back in rewards. Most boxers you face will be about the same size as you. You are a good weight for your height. If you decide to turn pro one day you will likely move up to 132 since you are 18 and may gain a few more pounds of muscle. There is a lot of action in the 130-135 range so there is lots of money floating around. Your age does not matter, Tyson was a multi-millionaire before he was 20 after winning the title.
Thanks for the question and best of luck.
